Virginia’s very own Equaleyes aka EQ dropped a very special mixtape today. It’s not just any mixtape but a tape dedicated to the life of the late, great Nujabes (瀬場潤, Seba Jun, February 7, 1974 – February 26, 2010). He was a force to be reckoned as a Hip-Hop producer/DJ. Like most of us, I got turned on to his music through the ‘Samurai Champloo intro’ on Adult Swim. Now I bump his Modal Soul album & Metaphorical Music album from time to time. EQ does a phenomenal job spitting over Nujabes instrumentals. You can download the tape here.

G&D-New Sinatra’s very own ‘MacGuyver’ recently dropped his mixtape and I’ve gotta say…it doesn’t disappoint. Do yourself a favor and turn the volume on your comps alll the way up… bass too. Mac spits over extremely classic Hip-Hop instrumentals… I know what you’re thinking.. “yeah..yeah..the dude that lives down the street from me does that shit too..” One. The dude down your street probably uses the microphone attached to his laptop. Two. MacGuyver is a witty MC. He has yet to disappoint my ear hairs in anyway and the same goes for his team ( Waze & Born I ). Be sure to cop ‘The Nostalgia Tape’ before you head to school…or work…or the trap house..whatever. I’ve recently had the pleasure of working with Washington’s very own Born I Music on his up and coming album’s ( King of Kings ) cover. He draws the influences for his music from Hip-Hop, Electronica, Pop and Music Worldwide. Born has worked with a range of music artists from Mobb Deep to Hot Chelle Rae.
